The city-state of Os has enacted draconian bans: any woman caught practicing magic shall be burned at the stake. At six years old, Callista, a prodigy of frost magic, secretly learned sorcery under her aunt Ledia, who was eventually condemned to the pyre. For fifteen years, she concealed her femininity and disguised herself as a man to scrape by at the Academy of Magic. The power-hungry Lord Hethias of the Flame Clan seized the chance to launch a clan war. He ambushed and gravely wounded Callista's father Damon, then massacred the Severu bloodline. After falling off a cliff and being rescued, Callista awakened her ancient frost bloodline. She made a thunderous appearance at the Grand Mage Trials, publicly revealing her true identity as a woman. Standing firm beside her tormented father, she single-handedly slew Hethias and repelled the dragon army. She pleaded fiercely before the Council of Elders to abolish the discriminatory edicts, vindicating all oppressed female mages. Later, she traveled to the distant Wind City-State under the alias of an apothecary. There she met and fell in love with Prince Silas, brokering a truce and alliance between the two realms. Together, they forged a new order where magic could be practiced freely by all, regardless of gender.
